When I fell pregnant, I stopped my gym membership, started walking instead of running and took up pilates three times a week – I felt amazing – I didn’t suffer from any back pain that my other pregnant girlfriends were, my balance remained in tact and my posture didn’t deteriorate. I kept a pretty compact ‘bump’ and felt confident and in control (most of the time!). I’m also convinced that it assisted in a natural birth and a speedy recovery afterwards.

I continued my regime of eating sensibly, walking and pilates three times a week when I fell pregnant with my second child and found the second pregnancy, labour and recovery even easier than the first. So, although I’m far from perfect, I really am a great believer in, and am passionate about the benefits of pilates and pregnancy.

I am also a qualified life coach and counsellor, trained in hypnotherapy and time line therapy. When in Oz, I presented on Yoga TV and appeared as the pilates in pregnancy expert throughout Lifestyle Channel’s Pilates TV. I have demonstrated at fitness expos, appeared in the media both press and radio and have also worked with pro AFL footballers in the area of sports coaching and pilates training.
